    Amber Barnes of Belle Plaine is on the Fall Semester Dean’s List at Northern Michigan University.

    Erica Selly of Belle Plaine was named to the University of Minnesota, Morris Dean’s List.

    Elizabeth Eischens, Nicholas Johnson, Michael Kroells and Kyeanna Pickar, all of Belle Plaine, have been named to the Fall Semester Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.

    Zachary Maguire of Belle Plaine was named to the Fall Semester Dean’s List at the University of North Dakota.

    Jacob Hartmann of Belle Plaine has been named to the University of St. Thomas Fall Semester Dean’s List.

    Nicholas Paul Brandt  of Belle Plaine made the Spring Dean’s List at North Dakota State University. He majors in Architecture.
    Casey Liebhard of Belle Plaine is a recipient of the Mimi Frenier Award in Gender, Women and Sexuality Studies from the University of Minnesota, Morris. The award is granted annually to a junior or senior gender, women and sexuality studies major in recognition of high academic achievement, and social, political and civic activism.
    Lisle Garcia of Belle Plaine graduated from St. Cloud State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Community Psychology.
    Jennifer Bauer, Andrew LaJeunesse and Jacob Raddatz of Belle Plaine were named to the Spring Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Duluth.

    Rebecca Koepp of Belle Plaine was named to the Spring Semester Dean’s List at Southwest Minnesota State University.

    Jayden Howie and Luke Zilverberg of Belle Plaine were named to the Spring Semester Dean’s List at South Dakota State University.

    Amber Barnes of Belle Plaine qualified for the Dean’s List at Northern Michigan University with a grade-point-average of between 3.25-3.99.

    Alissa Hoffman and David Schabelski of Belle Plaine have been named to Spring Dean’s List at Gustavus Adolphus College. The list comprises students who have earned at least a 3.7 grade-point-average.

    Mark Pexa of Belle Plaine graduated from Lewis University with a master’s degree in information security.

    Nicole Eisenschenk and Jacob Nowak of Belle Plaine qualified for Spring Semester President’s Roll of Honor at the University of North Dakota. To qualify for the honor, a student must have an overall cumulative grade-point-average of 3.80 or higher.

    Andrew Winterfeldt (Interior Design) and Erin Winters (English Education) of Belle Plaine were named to Spring Dean’s List at North Dakota State University. A student must earn a 3.50 grade-point-average or higher and be enrolled in at least nine class credits to qualify for the list.

    South Dakota State University announced that Luke Zilverberg of Belle Plaine will receive the Lake Campbell Wildlife Club scholarship for the upcoming year. Zilverberg, who will be a junior this fall, is the son of Dan Zilverberg and Kim Zilverberg. He is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science.
    Lisle Garcia, School of Health and Human Services, Community Psychology; and Ann Siemon, School of Health and Human Services, Communication Sciences and Disorders, both of Belle Plaine, were named to the Spring Dean’s List at St. Cloud State University. To be eligible for the honor, students must have a grade-point-average of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
    Rebecca Robinson, Undeclared Major - CLS; and Casey Schneider, Theatre Arts, Music Theatre Emphasis, both of Belle Plaine, have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse for the spring semester. To be eligible, students must have earned not less than a 3.5 semester grade-point-average and have carried a minimum of 12 semester credits.
    Zachery Juaire, Kayla Krick and Montana Meyer of Belle Plaine were named to the Spring Semester President’s List at South Central College. The recognition is given to students in good academic standing who maintain a grade-point-average of 3.5 or better, while earning 12 credits or more during the semester period.
    Kelsey Stender of Belle Plaine earned a spot for spring 2015 on the Central College dean’s list. The honor is awarded to full-time students who achieve a 3.5 grade-point-average or higher on a 4.0 scale while taking 12 or more graded credit hours for the semester.

    Alex Lorenz of Belle Plaine has been accepted for admission for the 2015-16 academic year to Luther College. He has been awarded the Founders Scholarship.

    Emily Tucker of Belle Plaine made the Dean’s List at Normandale Community College.

    Zachery Juaire, Shelby Klipple, Kayla Krick, Montana Meyer and Kayla Raines of Belle Plaine made the Dean’s List at South Central College.

    Cody Sieben of Belle Plaine has been selected to this year’s edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. The honor is based on a student’s academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. Sieben is a student at Murray State University in Murray, Ky.

    The Academic High Honor and Honor lists (Dean’s lists) for the past fall semester at Minnesota State University, Mankato have been announced by Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Marilyn Wells.
    Among 3,046 students, a total of 735 students qualified for the High Honor List by achieving a 4.0 straight “A” average, while 2,311 students earned a 3.5 to 3.99 average to qualify for the Honor List.

    High honor students from Belle Plaine are Megan Kathan and Claire Otto. Honor students are Clair Brazil, Richard Brennhofer, Lance Bressler, Mikhayla Clausen, Haley Fogarty, Alexandra Hartman, Abby Luskey, Kurt Ohnsorg, Emily Otto, Jenessa Rudell, Allison Stolee and Antonio Vesselinov.
    Samantha Bartz of Belle Plaine received the University of Wisconsin-Stout Chancellor’s Award for the fall 2014 semester. The award is presented to students who have a grade-point-average of 3.5 or above.

    Nicholas Zurn of Belle Plaine has earned the distinction of being named to the Dean’s List for the 2014 fall semester at Saint John’s University. To be included on the list, students must have a semester grade-point-average of at least 3.80 and have completed 12 credits.
    Katelyn Zurn of Belle Plaine has earned the distinction of being named to the Dean’s List for the 2014 fall semester at the College of Saint Benedict. To be included on the list, students must have a semester grade-point-average of at least 3.80 and have completed 12 credits.

    Ryan Johnson of Belle Plaine was named to the Dean’s List at Alexandria Community and Technical College for achieving a grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher for the Fall Semester 2014.

    Dylan Wenninger-Parsons of Belle Plaine, a freshman computer science and pre-mathematics education major is a member of the Honors Club at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-15 academic year.

    Erica Selly of Belle Plaine has been named to the University of Minnesota, Morris Dean’s List for the fall 2014 semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List, students must achieve a grade-point-average of 3.66 or higher while taking 12 or more credits, two-thirds of these credits on the A-F grading system.

    Elizabeth Eischens, junior, College of Liberal Arts; and Michael Kroells, junior, College of Science and Engineering, were been named to the 2014 fall semester Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade-point-average.

    Courtney Wolf of Belle Plaine was named to fall semester 2014 Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Crookston. To qualify for a place on the Dean’s List, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded (A-F) credits while attaining a 3.66 grade-point-average.

    Justin Weldon of Belle Plaine was named to the Dean’s List at Dunwoody College of Technology. He earned his placement on the list by earning a 3.5 grad-point-average of higher for the fall semester.

    Jacob Hartmann, Molly Wickenhauser and Gavin Dauwalter of Belle Plaine were named to the Dean’s List at the University of St. Thomas. Students must post a grade-point-average of at least 3.5 to be named to the list.

    Kelly Soller of Belle Plaine graduated from Bethel University following the fall 2014 semester. She earned a BA in Communication Studies.

    Angelika Ryazanova of Belle Plaine was named to Dean’s List at Bethel University. The Dean’s List honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade-point-average of 3.6 or greater.

    Aiden Winterfeldt of Belle Plaine made the Dean’s List at Coastal Carolina University. To qualify for the Dean’s List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade-point-average and upperclassmen a 3.5 grade-point-average.

    Ann Carstens and Jamie McMahon of Belle Plaine graduated from St. Cloud State University – Carstens with Graduate Certificate, Instructional Technology; and McMahon, Graduate Certificate, Sixth Year Program: Educational Administration.

    Megan Millmann of Belle Plaine was named to the Dean’s List at Bemidji State University.

    Ellie Murphy of Belle Plaine was named to the Dean’s List at Winona State University. To be eligible, students must have earned not less than a 3.50 semester grade-point-average and have carried a minimum of 12 credits.
    Two students from Belle Plaine graduated from The College of St. Scholastica on Dec. 13 in a commencement ceremony at the Reif Gymnasium on campus. Sandra Schneider graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Management, and Terry Muehlenhardt graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
    Nicole Eisenschenk and Jacob Nowak were named to Dean’s List at the University of North Dakota. The list comprises students whose grade-point-average are in the top 15 percent of the enrollment in each of the University’s degree granting colleges and schools. Eisenschenk and Nowak are both eligible to receive the D.J. Robertson Award for earning “straight A’s” during the 2014 Fall Semester.

    Jennifer Bauer and Jacob M Raddatz of Belle Plaine were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Students must achieved a grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher to be on the list.
    Molly Wickenhauser of Belle Plaine was named to the Dean’s List at the University of St. Thomas. Students must attain a grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher to make the list.
    Kelsey Stender of Belle Plaine earned a spot on the Dean’s List at Central College in Iowa. Students must attain a grade-point-average of 3.5 or higher to make the list.
    The College of St. Scholastica announced that three students from Belle Plaine have been named to the school’s Dean’s List. Included are Leah Eichhorst, Terry Muehlenhardt and Sandra Schneider. All three achieved a 3.75 or above grade-point-average.

    Desirae Guscette, a senior agribusiness management major from Belle Plaine, is a member of the Agribusiness/Agronomy Club at Southwest Minnesota State University for the 2014-2015 academic year. She is the daughter of Michelle Guscette of Belle Plaine.
    The purpose of the SMSU Ag Business/Agronomy Club is to supplement the education of Ag Business and Agronomy students through practical experience, to promote the pursuit of Ag Business and Agronomy as a career, to develop the community’s understanding of the Ag Business and/or the Agronomy profession and to familiarize the club with the role of Agricultural companies. The Ag Business/Agronomy Club sponsors activities and lectures. It also tours area and national businesses.
    Autumn Crimmins of Belle Plaine has been accepted for admission to Luther College for the 2015-16 academic year.

    The first day of school is always such an exciting day of school for parents, students and staff. This is the second year that we have two “first” days of school as our students in grades 7-12 began school on Tuesday of this week and our students in K-6 begin school on Thursday.

    Kaity Kuske of Belle Plaine has been selected a member of the South Dakota State University Hobo Day Committee. This year’s Hobo Day parade and football game will be held Oct. 25. The parade begins at 9:30 a.m., and kickoff against Youngstown State is at 2 p.m. in Coughlin-Alumni Stadium
